Ancient Murrelet (Synthilboramphus antiquus)
Monterey Bay, CA
This diminutive Murrelet had a history of hanging out around the Monterey Bay harbor, and was easy to find before we started our pelagic trip. Murrelets like this belong to Family Alcidae.
